Register of Documents

In the public view of the Ministry of the Interior’s register of documents it is possible to consult the documents of the ministry.

Through the public view of the register of documents it is possible to access the electronic documents that have been registered since 1 January 2005 and bear no access restriction. The documents with access restriction cannot be seen in the register of documents but the registration data is available. 

If you are unable to find a document, please submit a request for information, because the missing document may not be available in the register of documents due to technical reasons. We receive requests for information on the e-mail address: [email protected].

Vacation and mission orders of the Ministry of the Interior employees are available at the public register of documents of the self-service portal for state employees.  

Draft regulations of the Ministry of the Interior (except regulations regarding the organisation of work of the ministry and the area of government) are proceeded in the Drafts Information System. Regulations adopted get published in Riigi Teataja.

Manual for the register of documents

Documents can be searched by list of documents or by keyword on the basis of the following types of documents: incoming mail, outgoing mail, contract, decision, general order or staff directive. At least one search field must be filled in.

Documents can be searched in the register of documents using the following data fields:

  • Free text field if you search for a particular word in all data fields of the document. The length of a search word must be at least three characters.
  • The title if you search for the document by its title.
  • Date of registration if you search for the document by its date or a range of dates of registration.

In order to search by a certain date, enter the same date in both fields of the date. E.g. if you search for a document or documents registered on 04.03.2015, enter in the field “from” 04.03.2015 and in the field "to" 04.03.2015.

In order to find documents registered from a particular date, enter a date only in the field “from”. For example, if you search for a document or documents which have been registered from 04.06.2014, the documents which have been registered from 04.06.2014 (more recent first) will be displayed.

In order to find the documents which have been registered to a particular date, enter a date only in the field "to". For example, if you search for a document or documents which have been registered to 04.06.2014, the documents which have been registered to 04.06.2014 (more recent first) will be displayed.

  • Type of document if you search by type of document.
  • The other party if you search by name of sender or receiver of document.
  • Sender reference if you search by document registration number of sending institution.
  • Method of receiving/sending if you search by method of receiving or sending.
  • Access restriction if you search by access restriction of document.
  • Basis for access restriction if you search by basis for access restriction. When searching by basis for access restriction, also search by abbreviation of law, e.g. AvTS (avaliku teabe seadus/Public Information Act).
  • End date of access if you search by end date or range of dates of access. The same search terms are valid in this field as in the field "Date of registration".

List of documents

Results of searches are displayed in tabulated format. 20 documents are displayed on one page. In the case of more results the table is divided into pages.

A total of 100 first documents are displayed in search results, most recent first. For a more accurate result the search must be specified.

In order to see metadata of the document and public files, click on a text in any column.

Additional data fields are displayed in the detailed view of the document data. Public files are available in the section "Files" and links with other documents in the section "Links".
